אם חשבתם שטקס פרסי הגראמי יעבור חלק - אתם ממש טועים. רגע לפני שביונסה עשתה היסטוריה וזכתה גם בפרס אלבום הקאנטרי של השנה - ולראשונה קטפה את הפרס החשוב של הערב, אלבום השנה - הדרמה האמיתית התחוללה דווקא מחוץ לאולם, על השטיח האדום.

הראפר קניה ווסט הגיע עם אשתו בשנתיים האחרונות, ביאנקה סנסורי, לטקס - והזוג השנוי במחלוקת לא יכול היה להעביר ערב בנעימים מבלי לייצר שערורייה כלשהי, ממש כמו שהוא כל כך אוהב. 

כשהם על השטיח האדום, בעוד קניה לובש לוק שחור סטנדרטי ודי משעמם מכף רגל ועד ראש, ביאנקה תחילה נראתה גם כן לובשת מעיל פרווה בצבע תואם - אלא שברגע אחד היא הורידה אותו וחשפה שמלה שקופה לחלוטין - מה שחשף את מערומיה ללא שום טשטוש. בסרטונים שתיעדו את הרגע הזה, ניתן לשמוע אפילו את השוק וההלם של הצלמים במקום.

לסיבת העזיבה של השניים את המקום ישנם דיווחים סותרים - נטען שהם התפנו לרכבם מבחירה, ויש גם מי שמדווח שהם לוו החוצה מהטקס על ידי כוחות המשטרה.

מקור לאתר הרכילות Page Six מספר כי שוטרים הראו לווסט וסנסורי את דרך היציאה אחרי "רגע הלבוש המשוגע שהם הציגו על השטיח האדום", שדיווחים מספרים כי זה היה "ניסיון לשכפל את עטיפת האלבום של קניה, Vultures". בעטיפת האלבום המדובר סנסורי נראית עומדת עם הגב למצלמה כשהיא לא לובשת דבר חוץ ממגפיים גבוהים וחתיכת בד קטנטנה שמכסה את אחוריה.

ווסט וסנסורי, שנישאו בדצמבר 2022, צולמו עוזבים את הארנה של הטקס כשהם נכנסים למכונית כסופה. מקור נוסף סותר את הדיווחים ומספר לאתרי הרכילות מעבר לים כי הם דווקא עזבו מרצונם האישי: "הוא צעד על השטיח האדום ואז נכנס לרכבו ועזב את המקום".
