רבים טענו שההתמוטטות הנפשית של סלינה גומז נבעה בין היתר מהתעסקותה של הזמרת במערכת היחסים של ג'סטין ביבר והיילי בולדווין. מאז היא עוברת תהליך שיקום ומנסה להימנע מהרשתות החברתיות, אבל נראה שדווקא היילי פיתחה לאחרונה אובססיה כלפי האקסית המיתולוגית של בעלה הטרי.

בסוף השבוע האחרון בולדווין החלה לעקוב באינסטגרם אחרי עמוד מעריצים של סלינה גומז בשם "houseofsel", אחריו עוקבים יותר מ-30 אלף מעריצים של הזמרת. היא אמנם הסירה עוקב תוך זמן קצר, אבל הגולשים הספיקו לתעד את המהלך הזה ולשתף אותו ברשת.


בניסיון למזער נזקים מהצעד הסטוקרי שלה, היילי פנתה לבעלים של אותו עמוד וכתבה בהודעה: "היי, התחלתי לעקוב אחריך בטעות. כל כך מצטערת". אותו אדם העלה פוסט שתמך בהיילי, אבל זה לא גרם למעריצים להפסיק לחשוב שהיא מקנאה בסלינה וחוששת שתגנוב בעתיד את מקומה לצידו של ג'סטין.
